Palatine Barbarians High School Boys Rugby Team
We welcome new players at all times.
No experience is necessary.
In 2018, we will participate in the North Suburban Conference of Rugby Illinois Division 3. We participated in the Rugby Illinois Tier 2 (later renamed Div 2) from 2008 - 2012, when we joined Div. 1 (for 2013-2014). We were not proactive enough in recruiting and moved back to Div 2 for the 2015 - 2016 seasons.
2017 saw our team with only a few players, so we combined with the Barrington RC for that season.
We expect the 2018 season will be an opportunity to re-establish our HS Boys team. U19 players must be in High School (or home school equivalent) and turn 19 after Sept 1, 2017.
Spring Training will be 6:00 - 7:30 pm Mon & Wed evenings beginning Mon March 12, 2018 on synthetic turf under lights at Celtic (Aspen) Park, 1351 N Rohlwing Rd, Palatine, IL 60074
After April 1, 2018, we will train at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N Hicks Rd, Palatine, IL 60074 (outdoor field).
If the Palatine Park District closes Falcon Field due to weather, we will train at either Grassy Ridge Meadow, 1280 W Central Rd, Hoffman Estates, 60192 or Busse Woods, Golf Rd Entrance, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via email (PalatineRugby@gmail.com), or by phone (call 847-660-1228 and leave a message) or text/call Coach Burton directly: 847-338-1587.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
